OUR NETWORK OF PARTNERS IN SWITZERLAND

Whether it is a cantonal return assistance office, a branch for undocumented migrants or a penitentiary institution, our partners throughout Switzerland point out the vulnerable migrants for whom our program is intended.
• rejected asylum seekers;
• asylum seekers who decide to return to their country of origin rather than to the first European country where they registered (Dublin procedure);
• persons without legal status in Switzerland (undocumented migrants);
• persons in criminal or administrative detention who will have to return to their country of origin at the end of their sentence;
• any person who has been refused entry under the law on foreigners;
• holders of a B or C permit who are in a vulnerable situation and decide to return to their country of origin.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION

Returning applicants prepare a project application with the help of the partner in Switzerland and submit it to SSI. The latter carries out an initial evaluation of the project to determine whether the project is related to the migrant's skills.

FEASIBILITY STUDY

A request for a feasibility study of the project is sent to the local partner in the country concerned in order to assess whether the project is adapted to the local economic context and propose changes if necessary. If the project is accepted, a certificate of support indicating the amount granted and the contact details of the partner in the country of return is given to the beneficiary.

RETURN TO THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN

The State Secretariat for Migration prepares and finances the return trip of the beneficiary.

PROJECT LAUNCH

Once back in the country, the beneficiary contacts the local partner. Together, they establish the final budget of the project which will be submitted to SSI for validation. The funds are then sent to the partner who will implement the project with the beneficiary and ensure the proper allocation of funds. The beneficiary of the project does not receive any cash.

CONTROL OF THE PROJECT

The partner sends the SSI all receipts and photos relating to the purchases made and the finalized project.

VISIT OF THE PROJECT AND MONITORING

One year after the launch of the project, the local partner will make a visit to the beneficiary in order to assess the situation of the project and the level of reintegration of the beneficiary. The SSI program officer also makes visits to the countries of return in order to visit the projects that have been carried out, to better understand the local context and to learn from good practices.
